Meet Jocsan
Jocsan grew up in the mountains of Santa Ana in the department of La Paz, Honduras, working alongside his father in coffee. Much of his early life was spent helping transport coffee from nearby farms and assisting with the small family plot they managed together. When Jocsan was about fourteen years old, their farm produced only around 500 pounds of coffee cherries each year, which they sold locally. At the time, coffee was not something he thought about as a career or a craft. It was simply part of daily life and a necessary way for the family to earn income.
Everything changed when Jocsan was eighteen years old, and his father passed away. Suddenly, the responsibility for supporting the family fell heavily on his shoulders. Rather than leaving the farm behind, Jocsan and his brother chose to continue the work their father had started. Together they slowly rebuilt and improved their farm, learning through experience how to care for their trees and increase production. What began as a necessity gradually became something deeper: a commitment to building a future through coffee.
TheFarm
Finca El Limón, is located in the community of Corintillo in Santa Ana, La Paz, at elevations ranging between 1600 and 1650 meters above sea level. At these elevations, cool mountain temperatures and steady rainfall create ideal growing conditions for high-quality coffee. The farm includes several varieties, including Lempira, Catuai, Typica, Anacafe 14, and Parainema. Processing methods on the farm include both honey and natural processes, and the coffee is dried carefully on solar dryers and patios to ensure consistency and quality.

Why Partnership Matters
Today nearly 90% of Jocsan’s production is grown as specialty coffee, but only about half of it currently sells at specialty prices.
This is one of the biggest challenges small farmers face.
Growing high-quality coffee requires more labor, more knowledge, and more investment, but farmers don’t always have access to buyers who recognize that value.
That’s why direct partnerships matter.
When we source coffee from farmers like Jocsan, we’re not just buying coffee. We’re helping create stable relationships that support long-term investment in quality, sustainability, and community.
“Their property is straight out of a movie — wild, peaceful, and full of purpose.”
